GYF is a UK-based charity made up of volunteers committed to providing help to those in need without discriminating on the basis of race, religion or gender.
Our core values of sincerity, compassion and selfless charity are firmly based in Islamic teachings rooted both in the Quran and the sayings of the Prophet (peace and blessing upon him). Our fundamental inspiration in all projects is from the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) that “The best deed after belief in God is benevolent love towards people.”
Historically, GYF has had broad and numerous operations that include work on local, national and international levels. We have successfully run medical camps in Pakistan, partnered other charities in the UK to provide food for the homeless and worked on micro and macro levels, globally, to provide social empowerment to women. We are currently committed to setting up Islamic education centers throughout the UK, to facilitate education initiatives for local youths and provide a platform for healthy grass roots community interaction. These centers will also provide opportunities for interfaith dialogue and social exchange.
Central to our strategy is ensuring that all projects are adapted to the unique requirements of each community and providing our volunteers with the physical and spiritual education to be ambassadors of our core values. We strive to provide volunteers with all the support needed to be effective in their role, holding regular topical discussions, on a breadth of issues, and hosting events to help strengthen their commitment to our vision. This education allows our team to gain, and in turn impart, profound knowledge to every community they reach.
Our aim in UK is to set up community hubs that can serve local needs and form the bedrock of international outreach programs. We hope to assist communities bring about change that will improve their lives socially, economically and spiritually. Together, we strive to make this world a peaceful abode for all.
